Description

The Scottish Area Control Centre (Scottish AC) provides an area service within the Scottish FIR and the nothern parts of the London FIR. The airspace is divided into 6 sectors.

There are two all-purpose sectors, Moray and West Coast, and four low-level sectors, Talla, Wallasey, East and STAFA sectors, covering the Scottish TMA, Manchester TMA and Daventry CTA below FL285.

Bandboxing

Designated sectors should be opened in the following order: West, Talla or MORAY, then any of the remaining sectors as needed. Talla may be opened even if West is offline and will only provide a service within the low-level sectors airspace.

Aerodromes

Scottish AC is responsible for providing an appropriate approach and aerodrome service at the aerodromes listed below:

Talla: EGPH, EGPF, EGPK
East: EGNM, EGCN
Wallasey: EGGP, EGNS
STAFA: EGCC, EGNX
Moray: EGPD, EGPB, EGNT
West: EGAA, EGAC, EGNS

Traffic for all other aerodromes outside controlled airspace will only be provided with a Basic or Traffic Service workload permitting and should be released for take-off, landing and when within 3nm of the airfield.

Traffic exceptions

If only the Talla sector is open traffic arriving and departing the Scottish TMA via POL and DCS will be transferred directly to London AC. This traffic should be cleared according to the agreements in place between West Coast and London S10.
