Coordination

London Terminal Control Coordination

Farnborough, Blackbushe and Lasham departures to the north (via WCO) are subject to a standing agreement between SW DEPS Sector and North West Departures at FL100. However, departures to BPK and CLN are not subject to a standing agreement and must be individually co-ordinated.

Farnborough, Blackbushe, Lasham and Oxford arrivals will be co-ordinated with North West Departures.

Heathrow (EGLL) and Northolt (EGWU)

Heathrow BUZAD and WOBUN departures will be transferred directly from Heathrow Tower to NW DEPS, following their SID routing.

NW DEPS is responsible for the Heathrow BNN stack. If the BNN stack should become full, additional holding should be carried out at WCO.

Northolt arrivals are to be treated as Heathrow arrivals.

Stansted (EGSS)

Stansted departures to the north, west and southwest will be transferred from Stansted Tower to Essex Radar initially.

Essex Radar will transfer this traffic to NW DEPS climbing to Minimum Stack Level.

Luton (EGGW)

Luton departures to the north, west and southwest will be transferred directly from Luton Tower to North West Departures Sector, following their SID routing.

Brize Norton (EGVN), Oxford (EGTK) and Fairford (EGVA)

Brize Norton, Oxford and Fairford arrivals are to be individually co-ordinated with Brize Radar at a maximum of FL100.

Birmingham (EGBB) and Coventry (EGBE)

Birmingham Approach is responsible for the airspace within the Birmingham CTA up to FL85.

Birmingham inbounds are subject to a standing agreement at FL80. If holding is taking place at GROVE, or the traffic situation dictates, flights may be offered to Birmingham Approach at other levels. Traffic should be routed towards Honiley for GROVE and transferred to Birmingham Approach at least 20NM before reaching Honiley. The inbound standing agreement requires aircraft to be level at FL80 by 20NM before Honiley. Aircraft may be transferred on radar headings.

Coventry arrivals are to be treated as if they are inbound to Birmingham.

Birmingham departures to the south/east will be transferred from Birmingham to BNN Sector, climbing to the standing agreement level of FL60.
Coventry departures to the south/east will be transferred from Birmingham to BNN Sector, climbing to the standing agreement level of FL50 (or 5000ft). Although Coventry does not have its own SIDs, Birmingham will vector Coventry departures to generally follow the Birmingham SID routes.

Climb above FL60 must not be given until the flight is clear of the CHASE hold.

East Midlands (EGNX)

East Midlands approach control is responsible for control within the East Midlands CTA up to FL105. The hold for East Midlands arrivals from the south is at PIGOT, via UPDUK.

East Midlands inbounds are subject to a standing agreement at FL80, to be level by UPDUK. If the traffic situation dictates, flights may be offered to East Midlands Approach at other levels.

Traffic should be routed towards UPDUK and transferred to East Midlands Approach at least 10NM before reaching UPDUK.

East Midlands departures to the south will be transferred to NW DEPS Sector, climbing to the standing agreement level of FL70. Departures to the north will be transferred directly to MACC Stafa Sector.
