Area of Responsibility
The area of responsibility for Liverpool includes the Liverpool Radar Manoeuvring Area (RMA),
the Liverpool Control Zone, the Liverpool Control Area and the airspace within 40nm of
Liverpool, from the time and place at which:
- Arriving aircraft are released by area until control is transferred to Aerodrome Control (ADC)
- Over flying aircraft are transferred from an adjacent sector, until
such time as control is either returned to the previous sector or passed onto another sector.
- Aircraft from outside controlled airspace place themselves under the
control of Liverpool until transfer to another unit or until they place
themselves out of the control of Liverpool
The Liverpool approach function is handled by 1 radar controller (RAD). RAD
is responsible for the TIPOD and KEGUN stacks.
